The Stillness After the Search
I have spent my entire lifetime searching for my purpose.
Trying to find places to fit into.
Trying to find people to belong to.
Trying to use my gifts and talents to appease others.
All the while, I never really had any of it — or them.
So my question today is this:
Is all the searching really worth it?
Is it better to keep looking for purpose in people, places, and things?
Or is being still and finding peace far better?
And by stillness, I don’t mean staying in one place or doing nothing.
I mean being still in God.
Being still in who you are.
Being still with what you know to be true.
Having the faith to stand on it.
The Search Feels Natural — But Is It Necessary?
The truth is, the search often feels like the path we’re supposed to take. We look for meaning in jobs, relationships, recognition. We chase spaces that promise belonging, hoping that one of them will reflect our worth back to us.
But over time, we begin to see that striving without peace leaves us empty. Even when we “find” something, it often feels incomplete — like holding sand in our hands. The more we chase, the more it slips through our fingers.
What If Peace Was the Purpose All Along?
There’s a different way. A better way.
And it begins with stillness — not as passivity, but as power.
It is a kind of rooted surrender.
A bold choice to say:
“I will no longer measure my value by the world’s standards. I will be still. I will rest in God. I will trust who I am becoming.”
This kind of peace isn’t loud.
It doesn’t always look like progress.
But it is everything.
Because when you have peace on the inside, you no longer need to hustle for it outside.
That peace calms you in the midst of the storm.
It grounds you when life feels unsteady.
It reminds you that storms don’t last — but what they shape within you does.
Peace Is the Place Where You Become
I have found that peace is the greatest treasure of all.
Especially in times like these.
It brings you to a place where anything and everything becomes possible.
It allows you to accept what is, release what was, and embrace what will be.
It leads you back to yourself — the self you may have lost while searching.
To understand yourself.
To know yourself.
To believe in yourself.
To see yourself clearly, fully, and lovingly.
To find yourself — and finally come home.
And when that happens… nothing else really matters.
Because everything else starts to fall into place.
The Truth You Already Know
You were never truly lost.
Your purpose was never out there.
It was always in you.
Waiting for you to be still long enough to remember.
And now, as you return to yourself —
To your truth.
To your God-given peace.
To your faith.
You are no longer just searching.
You are becoming.
